Director of Shanghai Institute of Immunology and Director of Department of Immunology and Microbiology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. He holds a bachelor's degree from Peking University, a master's degree and a doctorate from Yale University, and a postdoctoral position at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He has served as assistant professor, associate professor, and professor (Tenure) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. His research interests include immune regulation and signal transduction, intestinal immunity and immune mechanism of enteritis and intestinal cancer.
